3-on-3 Floorball Competition
Rules and Regulations
Date, Time, Venue:
The competition will be held on Wednesday, 4th July 2009, 9am onwards at RP, Sports Hall, Level 2, Sports Complex..
Number of players per team:
1. Each team shall comprise a maximum of 4 players. There are 2 categories, male and female. A player is allowed to register for only 1 team.
2. No replacements or inclusions of players are allowed during the competition period after the submission of player registration form. This includes players who are injured before or during the course of the competition. Teams are advised to make full advantage of the maximum representation to avoid any complications.
3. All registrations must be submitted to Republic Polytechnic, Office of Student and Graduate Affairs, by 3rd July 2009 (Friday). Late entries will not be entertained.
4. Entry is on a first-come-first served basis. Only the first 32 teams to register will be allowed to participate in the tournament.
5. Each member must be under 19 years old as of 1st January 2009.
6. Participants are reminded to bring along matriculation cards or any other form of identification which certify their eligibility. Failure to do so will constitute a disqualification of the player from being fielded in the match. This will be enforced by random check from the host institution.
7. For any team found to have field ineligible player(s) during the tournament, the team will be disqualified from the tournament and all played matches will be null and void.
GAMES FORMAT
1. The competition will be played on a Double Knockout System.
2. In the event of less than 6 participating team, round robin system shall prevail.
3. Each game will last for 5 minutes, with no interval.
4. IF at full-time, the teams are level on goals, the winner will be decided by sudden death penalty shots.
5. There is a face-off at the start of the game and after each goal. The referee can also call for a face-off on the legal face-off spots when it is unclear which team should have possession of the ball.
6. A player is not allowed to lift the stick above the hip, hook or trip an opponent with the stick or leg, throw the stick, stand inside the goal area, kick the ball to a teammate, or stop the ball with the hands, arms or head.
7. All offences will be penalised with a free hit, except for more serious offences, which will be penalised by a penalty shot (3 shots).
8. The Referees’ decision is final concerning all matters within their jurisdiction. If there are doubts, the subject matter may be referred to the Organizing Committee.
9. The Organiser will not provide floorball sticks to the participants.
10. The Organiser assumes no responsibility for personal injuries or loss of belongings, arising from the participation in the tournament or activities related to the tournament.
11. Teams are to be ready 15 minutes before the scheduled start of each game.
12. Each team captain is responsible for the proper control and conduct of the players.
13. Teams representing schools must have their teacher-in-charge present.
14. No marking shoes will be allowed in the competition
WALK-OVER
Team shall concede a walkover if they failed to turn up 5 minutes after the scheduled time of play and all games will be null and void immediate effect.
CANCELLATION OF GAMES
In the case of cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances, the match will not be rescheduled.
APPEALS
All appeals are to be made with the host officer-in-charge within 10mins after the end of the match. Late appeals will not be entertained. Decision of appeals will be notified to appealing party after an agreement by the organizing committee.
In the case of fighting that result in match ejection by the match officials, all concerned players will be barred from playing with immediate effect. There will be no form of appeal for fighting cases.
All games will be null and void with immediate effect should concerned institution decides not to continue with the scheduled match.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams
In the event of any questions or doubts which have not been provided for in this set of Rules and Regulations, the decision of the competition organiser shall be final.
